For a poor community that faces drought and its after affects, it is important to impliment proper irrigation – the artificial application of water to soil.
When plants are watered with the right frequency and amount, crops will reach their full potential. This then of course increases harvest and reduces poverty.
An irrigation kit contains enough water sprays and pipes to irrigate the vegetable gardens of 10 households. This is so important for our communities – especially during dry season when fresh vegetables ae scarce in the markets.
This year, irrigation kits are being distributed to communities in Burundi.
