WHY THIS MATTERS
Shoes are just one of the weapons against parasitic intestinal worms. While FH provides deworming medicines for all children in the country of Burundi, at the same time we want to prevent the children from contracting worms in the first place. Worms are often contracted from walking barefoot. When you combine shoes and medicines with efforts to clean up the water supply, communities are winning the fight against worms.
This year, plastic shoes will be distributed to communities in Burundi.
